Zoya Gauhar

Research Specialist

Zoya is a research specialist in the labs of Elizabeth Gavis and Cameron Myhrvold. Beginning with her undergraduate thesis in the Gavis lab, her research focuses on adapting Cas13 technologies to study RNA function and localization, using fruit fly development as a model. She received an A.B. in Molecular Biology and a certificate in Global Health and Health Policy from Princeton, graduating in the great class of 2022. She previously researched Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type I (MEN1) during an internship with Dr. Steven Libutti’s lab at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ). A Jersey native, during her free time she enjoys cheesy contemporary fiction novels, in-depth discussions about MCU films, photography, and baking (most often banana bread).
