Research Specialist
Owen (he/him) was a research specialist in the Myhrvold lab surveying Cas13 variants and advancing Cas13's applications in the diagnostic space. He holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology & Immunology and an M.Sc. in Experimental Medicine from McGill University in Montreal, where he used molecular and computational tools to study and develop possibly curative interventions for people living with HIV. Although previously centered in Canada, Owen's research has also brought him to work in Australia, France, and now the USA. Outside of the lab, Owen is an avid photographer, musician, outdoorsman, and triathlete. He is now pursuing a PhD at Stanford University.
