Michelle Grunberg
Research Specialist
Michelle was a research specialist in the Myhrvold Lab working on advancing CRISPR-based diagnostics. She began this work in the Sabeti Lab at the Broad Institute, optimizing a CRISPR-based SARS-CoV-2 detection assay. Michelle earned her B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). In the Arias Lab at UCSB, she elucidated virus-host interactions using a CRISPR-Cas9 system to generate mutant viral peptides. While in the labs of Dr. Wilson and Dr. Crawford at the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, she pursued the optimization of next generation sequencing for use with patient samples, harnessing the CRISPR-Cas9 technique DASH. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, skiing, and photography.
