Emily Gibson
Graduate Student
Emily is a graduate student in the Molecular Biology program. She received her B.A. in Molecular & Cell Biology from UC Berkeley, where she studied DNA methylation as an adaptive mechanism in Northern elephant seals. Before coming to Princeton, Emily worked at a biotech startup, engineering microbes to produce novel small molecules, and as a researcher in the Konermann lab at Stanford, improving the efficacy of Cas13 orthologs for in vivo editing applications. In the Myhrvold lab, Emily is interested in probing the search mechanism of Cas13. Outside of the lab, Emily enjoys hiking, visiting museums, and baking.
