PhD Student
Alex Bell is a graduate student in the Molecular Biology program. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry at UCLA, where she used polypeptide chemistry to study coacervation and fabricated paper based point of care diagnostics for heart attack markers. She has also worked researching rare-earth up- and down- converting crystals. Alex is interested in developing new tools for diagnostics and prognostics to help better understand the host immune response. Outside the lab, Alex enjoys hiking, playing guitar, and walking her dogs.
